Welcome to the ASIN Content Wiki!

The Resolver Holding Management Project is an initiative of the ASIN Content Management Group to improve the accuracy and the management of the serials holding in the CAUL member institutions.

This Wiki brings together individuals involved in various aspects of serials management to identify problems, identify specific steps to improve the situation; and deliver workable solutions to improve the KnowledgeBase.

One of the first goals is to work together to improve the accuracy and decrease the workload involved in the maintaining holdings information for resources acquired through shared purchases such as CAUL and CRKN.

Good morning,

Does anyone have a solution for finding titles with spelling variations in the Resolver? For example - we have access to the title Nursing Economics through both Ebsco Cinahl and ProQuest, however, in Cinahl the title is under Nursing Economic$ and does not show when you search using title keyword in the Resolver.

You can build a Variant titles file that loads as a Local holdings table, and your title entry for the alternate title in the Variants file will give the user a "see also" link pointing them towards the actual title entry. We've been doing this for particularly troublesome titles since late 2007 and it works pretty good.

Ask Paul Moss or WLM about how to set this up. It's not hard, and he can explain it better than I can, I'm sure.

To see it in action, go here:
http://www.lib.unb.ca/eresources/index.php?doSearch=1&limitResourceType=jour&sub=journals&searchtype=every_word&title=Eastern+European+politics+and+societies

The search is for "Eastern European politics and societies", but the package title entry went by an alternate version of the title dropping "ern" from "Eastern" and you'll notice the "see" link pointing you towards to legitimate title entry.

Good morning,

We are having issues with our Springer Link titles in the Resolver and I was wondering if perhaps we have the incorrect packages clicked under Title List Administration. We have two collections -with content- Kluwer and Springer LINK ( without Kluwer or Brill). I would be interested to know if anyone else is using these packages , or what other packages are being used for this publisher.

Kind regards,

Hello everyone,
Mount Allison is having problems with Science Direct-- deciding which package is the best fit. Can I ask what package others have decided on?
many thanks
